New to El Paso Texas is this sleek 23,000 sqft aircraft hangar and 9,800 sqft FBO executive terminal. An eye catching property that offers modern hangar space, drinks bar, cafe, pilot facilities, snooze rooms and conference space. AeroDoor are proud to have been a part of this, and the photos look great.
AeroDoor were awarded the contract to design, fabricate and install the hangar door for this new 23,000 sqft aircraft hangar that boasts clean and secure space for business jets in El Paso Texas.
The hangar door spans the full width of the building wall so there are no door pockets. The building opening is 150ft wide so with the door leaves stacked behind one another there’s 120ft of wingspan access.
The door is made up of 5 door leaves that are interconnected, there is a motor and control panel on the first and last leaf. There is a feature on each control panel that we included called stack/group. This feature allows the door operator to stack the door leaves behind one another and then move them left or right, as a single group. It’s an improvement to the speed and efficiency of hangar door operation. An example is shown at the bottom of this page.
Each door leaf has two telescoping top guide rollers. Telescoping rollers are more expensive than fixed rollers, but they allow us to meet the desired live load deflection requirements of the building. We provided +9”/-6” of live load deflection for this client.
There are fail safe sensing edges that span each leading edge of the door. A sensing edge will bring the door to a sudden stop as the foam filled edge hits an obstruction. AeroDoor almost exclusively uses a military specification sensing edge that has a 4-wire fail safe circuit. The fail safe circuit will advise the door operator if there is a fault preventing the sensing edge from doing its job.
This door will be warranted for up to five years and the client has the option of future service and support from AeroDoor which is available to read here.
