All Moving Bottom Rolling Door System
We were awarded the contract for two large bottom rolling door systems on the Blue Origin building back in Fall 2016. Our contract consisted of the design, manufacturing and installation of two all moving configuration hangar doors that would fill 135ft x 60ft and 35ft x 45ft openings on opposite ends of the new rocket facility.
We installed the bottom rail prior to the foundations being pored by the general contractor. Months later when the building had been erected and formally sheeted we returned to Cape Canaveral to hang and install the top tracks, door panels, and the soffit (flat sheeting) above the top track. Once the project was close to completion we returned to the job site to install the in-frame motor operators and pull our conduit and wiring back to the trolley buss.
Blue Origin built this rocket factory in Exploration Park near NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The 750,000 square-foot facility is where Blue Origin will build its reusable New Glenn rocket, a massive 270-foot-tall (82 meters) booster for orbital launches from the nearby Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
