Floating Bottom Rolling Door – Rosemary Beach Owners Center
This recreational facility combines a private owner’s club with a public amphitheater for the enjoyment of homeowners, resort guests, and the public. An iconic tower serves as a beacon for the project both within and outside of the community. Up lighting on the inverted pyramid reflector of the 75 foot high tower provides a landmark visible from the main highway and within the resort itself. A flexible outdoor performance amphitheater features a covered stage that can be partially enclosed to heighten acoustic quality. Stepped lawn terraces and side walls provide casual seating for smaller events such as movies, concerts, lectures, and celebrations. The adjacent community green provides additional space for larger crowds.
The side stage and main stage are enclosed on one side by sliding panel doors constructed of aluminum frames with Ipe wood louvers. Panels on the side stage act as a privacy screen for backstage event preparation. Behind the amphitheater is the private owner’s club. The multi-purpose space has a lower level enclosed lounge with panel doors, which allow it to open up to the outdoor spaces. The pool has two lap lanes, a peninsula with a small seating area, and a covered shade structure with cabanas. A large masonry wall provides sound screening along the northern boundary and a backdrop for movies and digital art. A tiled fountain separates the lower pool level from an upper level with outdoor dining and a fireplace.
